What I have learned

I though I will make a recap on this first year of university as I have learned so much in such a short period of time!

When I first came to uni I thought it would be somehow similar to secondary school. Go to my lessons, do my homework and enjoy lots of free time. For the first half of the year I seemed to be doing alright but then the workload escalated and I found myself lost.

I had to cope with so much work I thought I was going to break. Countless nights I spent thinking if I was going to make it in this industry and right at the end of the uni year I saw clear again.

Something in me had changed, after all the stressful time I found the determination to keep on going. Somehow the workload seemed to grow smaller and I was suddenly coping much better at managing my time.

Throughout the year I felt like everyone was making so much progress, yet I seemed to improve slower than most people and that made me think I that perhaps I wasn't good enough. But it is all about the effort put in, and about perseverance. I can't give up when I just started!

It is a tough world and a tough industry and hoping will not make me any better, therefore I need to toughen up and start taking control of my life. Dedicate to my course like it is my job.

I love what I do and I can't imagine myself doing anything else.

I am very grateful for this first year of uni as it has taught me very valuable lesson I will carry with me in the future.

Now time to enjoy summer!
My aim is to produce a drawing/painting everyday to that my skills don't get rusty :)

Carla.
